Remedial massage works with whatever problem or problems you are suffering. This could be lower back pain, limited movement in the shoulder, difficulty sleeping, headaches, or you may just wish to be pampered.

I  look at the whole picture,  listen to what you tell me and use that information to guide direction. I work with you to create a massage that best suits your needs.

I  direct massage techniques to where I find muscular related problems and work soothing and nurturing, relieving tension as I work. Where a site is too painful to work directly I can use other strategies around the area which can bring great relief.

Remedial massage can also be used to investigate problems and help you decide on any further treatment. Discussing problems during the treatment can be helpful. Attitudes to health and well-being and your relationship with your body can be useful topics of conversation. Where I offer advice it will be constructive and realistic.

The massages I do are not painful. I believe that pain is part of the cycle of tight muscles. I want to create movement and flexibility without triggering a counter-productive pain response.

My approach is flexible, informal and open.

  1. Understanding -  It’s important to find out what’s happening
  2. Effective massage -  Meeting your personal needs
  3. Recommendations - I can help you understand your symptoms and suggest the next steps

Please can you tell me what to expect

If your massage is at home, I will need enough space to set up

For a table I need about 8ft by 4ft space. I can use a chair or a bed or we can arrange for you to come to me

I will provide the towels, the massage oil, even the relaxing music. However, we can discuss this. With Covid, you may prefer to provide your own towels

For a massage, you only need to wear your underwear. Towels will keep you decent, and you wont have to undress in front of me

I generally use oils. We will discuss which ones, especially as some contain nuts and you may have an allergy

Do you only work on the Fylde Coast?

No!

I cover the surrounding area

I can cover further afield, but there may be a travel charge

If you’re not sure if your area is covered, please feel free to get in touch

Can I still have a massage if I have a skin condition?

This depends on what the skin condition is

If the skin is broken, it is not advisable to have a massage as it may be aggravated by the oil. If the skin condition is contagious then, unfortunately, I can’t provide a massage

The best thing to do is to ask me before you book your massage and I’ll let you know whether or not I can provide a massage

Do you only do massage at home?

No!

I prefer to massage in peoples own homes or workplaces. However, I also have a couple of locations on the Fylde Coast where I can massage you

Are you fully qualified and Insured?

Yes!

I am a fully qualified massage therapist

I belong to the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists), which is the largest professional association for massage therapists

I am fully insured

Extras

I am often asked, usually over the phone, whether I do "extras".  I am more than happy to pray for you before, during and after your massage.  This service comes completely free of charge.

CANCELLATIONS & LATE ARRIVALS
Cancellation Policy: 24 hours. Please cancel as soon as possible if a foreseeable event is likely to prevent you from attending, for example, illness or adverse weather conditions.
I require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Failure to attend an appointment with less than 24 hours notice of cancellation will incur the charge for the full appointment. This is because I may not be able to fill your appointment slot and still need to cover my costs.
However, if you need to cancel your appointment at short notice because of Covid-19 related symptoms, a long-term medical condition which varies from day to day, or because you are more than 37 weeks pregnant, then we shall discuss the cost implications on a case by case basis.
Following a cancellation, payment must be received before any further massage bookings can be taken.
Late Arrivals: It is important that our agreed appointment time and duration is adhered to. I appreciate that sometimes, things happen, and you may arrive a little later or need to leave a bit earlier than planned. This is fine, but I cannot make up the missed time by overrunning or adding time to subsequent appointments.

COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES.
Updated 24/04/2022 and 30 December 2022
I have adapted my business and how I deliver my at home treatments to meet and exceed the current government guidelines. I have conducted detailed and thorough risk assessments to ensure your safety and my safety. I have created new hygiene protocols to add to my existing strict cleanliness regulations that as a therapist, I already adhere to.
I want you, as my client, to feel as safe as possible, within your own home. I want to feel secure in the knowledge that I have everything I need to deliver your treatment in the safest environment possible.

Information on COVID-19
The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The virus can also be spread by a person touching their face and the droplets being passed on to surfaces such as table top, door handles.

It is with the utmost importance we follow strict hygiene rules, to minimise risk of infection when in close contact (less than 1 metre) with another person, to help prevent the virus being transmitted.

My services require close contact to deliver treatment. I have devised guidelines to minimise risk wherever possible.

BOOKING A TREATMENT OR SERVICE
You will be asked to complete a consultation form. This may be online on via a telephone or zoom call.

The form assesses if you have any medical issues that may prevent you from receiving a massage.

You will be asked to complete a detailed COVID-19 consultation form before your massage. The consultation form will ask questions in relation to your medical history and whether you have any COVID-19 related symptoms. I will also check If anyone living with you, or anyone you may have come into contact with, are experiencing any symptoms of the COVID-19

CLIENT APPOINTMENT DAY PREPARATIONS
You will be advised that if you suffer from allergies, which may cause sneezing I will ask you to take an antihistamine at least 4 hours prior to the appointment. If the client is particularly suffering and thinks that an antihistamine tablet won’t minimise the risk, the appointment should be rescheduled.

Please clear an area at least 2 metre square at their property. I am unable to move any furniture or touch any soft furnishings in the clients home, this must be done before I arrive.

All other members of the household are advised to maintain social distancing.

Please help ventilate the area by opening windows prior to me arriving.

Please remove all jewellery before treatment.

Client to wash hands immediately before treatment commences.

Clients to wear face coverings, as advised throughout treatment

THERAPIST PROTOCOLS
I will arrive and can wear a type 2 face covering throughout treatment as required.. The client may wear a face covering during the treatment
My hair hair will be away from my face.
I will provide all hygiene products, sprays & PPE that are required for your massage.
I will provide my own bottle of water.
I will disinfect any surfaces that I touch
These guidelines are advisory only. They do not constitute legal requirement, have not been agreed with the government and do not imply or incur any liability to VickiGaleMassage
These guidelines are written with a view of protecting me and you
I will and you should continue to check local government websites and guidelines for the most up to date health and safety recommendations.
Mobile Massage Covid-19 Health and Safety Measures will be reviewed regularly and as government advice changes
